If the oil level rises significantly but does not exceed the specified limit marked on the conservator, the operator on duty should:
(1) Check whether there is any issue with the cooling equipment;
(2) Check the load variation of the transformer;
(3) Check whether the ambient temperature around the cooler has changed too drastically;
(4) If the oil level rise is due to temperature increase, contact maintenance personnel to drain some oil.
If the oil level is found to drop or cannot be seen in the conservator, the operator on duty should:
(1) Check whether there is a significant oil leak;
(2) Check whether the load has decreased;
(3) Check whether the ambient cooling temperature has lowered;
(4) If there is a major oil leak in the transformer, switch to a standby transformer for operation and arrange for repair;
(5) If the oil level drop is due to ambient cooling or load variation, and the oil level cannot reach the specified gauge height, contact maintenance personnel to refill the transformer with oil to the standard level.
